Embracing Every Unique Journey So Every Family Feels Truly Seen.

All Families. All Welcome.

Always.

Hey Beautiful Souls!
are you Ready to dive into the enchanting world of outdoor family photography? Let's sprinkle a bit of fairy dust and make your family session truly magical. Here are my tried-and-true tips for capturing those heartwarming, candid moments in the great outdoors:

The beauty of unposed:

I. Prompts are magic

Off with stiff poses! I use prompts to evoke genuine reactions—like asking your little one to whisper their favorite joke. Laughter ensues, and voila! Magic captured.

II. Embracing the chaos - it's really ok

Family sessions aren't about perfection; they're about connection. Let the kids run, giggle, and explore. Those candid moments are the purest form of magic.

III. Let the in-between moments shine

It's not just about the big smiles; it's about the stolen glances, the hand-holding, the goofy dances. These in-between moments are pure magic.

Location, Location, Location:

Find a spot that resonates with your family's vibe.

Whether it's a sun-kissed meadow, a hidden woodland, or your backyard—let the location tell your story.

And don't worry - I have a list of beautiful locations to use if you'd like some ideas to pick from!

Golden Hour Goldmine

Timing is everything. The golden hour before sunset bathes your family in a warm, flattering glow. It's nature's Photoshop, trust me. It is magic and THE best time for a photo session. This can be harder in the summer with smaller children since the sun sets later so good planning is optimal.

Dress Comfortably, Express Boldly

Comfort is key, there is nothing worse than feeling itchy or like your clothes are suffocating you. Don't shy away from a pop of color in one of your participants clothing or accessory. A child wearing a shirt with a pattern can break up solids and be very pleasing to the eye as well.

I recommend not matching - per se. Rather, I highly recommend finding a color pallet that you love or going with nice soft neutrals is always a winner in my book. Check out my Pinterest boards for some beautiful color pallet ideas!

Snack-Time Sorcery

Got little ones?

Snacks are your secret weapon. They can be bribes before the shoot, rewards, or instant mood lifters. Pack a variety, and let the munching magic unfold.
let's face it, we live in the pnw - it's not always sunshine and clear skies

and that is perfectly fine!

Of course we will be checking the forecast, but don't fear a little rain. Sometimes, those unexpected weather elements create the most magical backdrops.

Connection Over Perfection

MY SESSIONS ARE ALL ABOUT CAPTURING AUTHENTIC MOMENTS FILLED WITH MOVEMENT, LAUGHTER, AND GENUINE JOY. YOU CAN EXPECT A SESSION THAT FEELS MORE LIKE A PLAYFUL ADVENTURE THAN A FORMAL PHOTOSHOOT.

Real life can be messy, and that's where the magic happens. Embrace the chaos, the spilled snacks, and the wind-tousled hair. Take a deep breath, and let it be.
