Double the Love: Twin Newborn Session Highlights

There’s something uniquely special about twin newborn sessions - the quiet joy, the double snuggles, and the way these tiny humans are already bonded in ways that we can’t capture.

Recently, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing a set of sweet twin babies in their cozy home.

We worked entirely in the family’s living room, transforming the space into a warm, twin ready studio. I set up my posing table and backdrop stand right under the TV, perfectly positioned next to the large windows to take advantage of the soft, natural, light streaming in. Natural light always adds a soft, glowing touch that makes newborn skin look absolutely angelic.

The session was a mix of lifestyle and soft-posed portraits. For the lifestyle portion, I focused on capturing mom and her babies on the couch, soaking in those snuggles, precious moments of the newborn life. There’s nothing quite like seeing the joy and awe on parents’ faces as they admire not one, but two tiny babies.

For the posed portraits, I transitioned to my posing table, creating dreamy setups with soft wraps, soft textures, and a neutral-toned backdrops. One of the most special aspects about this session was having Grandma there to lend a helping hand. She was the ultimate baby whisperer - helping to hold one baby while we worked on individual shots of the other, and stepping in for feeding breaks when needed.

Twins bring their own rules to a session, and this was no exception. We embraced their personalities - one baby was mostly calm and content, while the other was a teeny bit more curious and alert. With a little milk (and some teamwork), we captured everything from their soft, sleepy expressions to the sweet curve of their tiny fingers and toes.

Photographing twins is always such an honor. It’s twice the love, twice the swettness, and, yes, sometimes twice the chaos. But, every moment is absolutely worth it. This session was a perfect blend of connection and creativity, and I left feeling so grateful to have documented these once-in-a-lifetime moments for such a wonderful family.

If you’re a parent of twins (or more!) wondering how a session might work in your home, I’m here to guide you every step of the way. Your living room, your light, your love - those are the only things we need to create something truly beautiful.
